Dorm
In this studio, the objective was to design a dorm in Dumbo Brooklyn that housed 150 St. Frances students. The goal was to incorporate an atrium while placing all the dorm units above the FEMA flood line. The strategy my partner I and came up with was to design unit (singles, doubles, and triplets) that vertically stacked through the wet-wall of the kitchen and bath. This both created a variety between floors and provided natural common spaces. Additionally, we wanted to provide daylight/privacy control for students, by designing foldable perforated metal panels, that also complemented the industrial esthetic of Dumbo.

The concept behind our design was to "slide" our varying units down a wet- wall.
