In this second-year studio project, I design a kindergarten on a narrow and sloped site in Staten Island. Choosing a round shape for the classrooms allowed a desk orientation where the geometry pulls the focus back to the teacher and allowed a playful and inviting structure for the little kids. Due to the natural steep slope of the site, terracing the roofs of the classrooms allowed for individual outdoor play areas.
